More Info

Julieta Venegas: Winner of five Latin Grammys, pop star Julieta Venegas has become a singing sensation in both Latin and North America. The multi-instrumentalist first broke into the mainstream with her single, "De Mis Pasos", and has continued to perform popular tour dates and release acclaimed albums. A good example would be 2010's acclaimed Otra Cosa, which has allowed for 2011 tour dates around California and South America.

The Long Beach-born, Tijuana raised singer learned to play the piano and violin from a young age. In the early 90s, Julieta Venegas performed with the ska / punk band Tijuana No!, before departing due to conflicting political views and beginning her solo career. Venegas released her debut album, Aquí, in 1997, which featured the hit single "De Mis Pasos" and was followed by festival tour dates that further built her popularity. Julieta Venegas' greatest achievement came in 2006 with the release of Limón y Sal, which won the artist both a US and Latin Grammy, and went platinum in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, and the US. Venegas also achieved popularity, particularly in the US, with her MTV Unplugged album in 2008, which showcased some of her greatest hits with a slew of guest artists.

Venegas' latest album, Otra Cosa, has already gone gold and received acclaim from both fans and critics, in particular the single "Bien o Mal." The album has left fans wanting more, which is exactly what they'll get on Julieta Venegas' 2011 tour dates. After performing around California in August and a performance in Lima, Peru on September 3, Venegas will spend September in Spain. Then she will perform in Caracas, Venezuela on October 3 before ending her 2011 tour dates in California in late October.
