COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Community Support and Suicide Prevention
CONTACT will offer two 40 hour training courses for prospective HOTLINE VOLUNTEERS beginning Tuesday, September 12, 2017 and running weekly through November 21st; mornings 9:30am-12:30pm and evenings 7:30-10:30pm. A one hour, no obligation, orientation session will be held on Sept 12 at 9:30am and 7:30pm at the Pennington United Methodist Church, 60 South Main Street, Pennington, NJ 08534. The classes teach compassionate listening skills, telephone crisis intervention, suicide prevention, addiction awareness and much more. Representatives from community agencies are speakers on a variety of topics. Taking this course is a great way to become a better listener and help other people through CONTACT.
