In the fall of 1777, an encampment took place at the Mills during the Revolutionary War. From here, General Washington’s troops marched into Philadelphia and fought the Battle of Germantown, then retreated back to their old camp. On display will be artifacts found on the property including an actual order from General Washington. Included on all tours, last tour at 3 pm. All ages.

Pennypacker Mills is the home of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker (1903-1907) and his family. Set on 170-acres of bucolic farmland, the mansion is completely furnished and houses an extensive collection of official and personal artifacts of the Pennypacker family. Operated by the County of Montgomery, the site is open year-round for guided tours, seasonal events, educational programs, changing exhibits, and special programs. www.montcopa.org/pennypackermills

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm; & Sunday, 1 to 4 pm
Closed all Mondays & County Holidays.
